Guebwiller

The small town of Guebwiller is on the banks of the River Lauch at the entrance to Florival, 'the Valley of Flowers', one of the deepest valleys in the Vosges Mountains. It is home to some of the best vineyards in the Alsace with high terraces which were first planted by monks of the nearby Abbey of Murbach.

It is the birthplace of 19th Century artist and ceramist, Théodore Deck and the town now boasts one of the best collections of the man who did much to revive the art of ceramics. The collection is in the ‘Le Musée du Florival’ in rue du 4 Février.

The town holds many exhibitions, music festivals and sporting events.
