The historic and tranquil hill-top village of Villefranche de Lonchat is just 15 minutes drive from St Emilion. It has two churches, a museum, a well stocked village shop, baker, chemist and bars. Nearby is Lac de Gurçon where one can swim from a sandy beach, windsurf, hire a pedalo and visit several bars and restaurants. There are tennis courts and riding stables.

It is also less than an hour's drive from Bergerac on the River Dordogne. Bergerac boasts a fine collection of old merchants' houses and a statue in honour of its famous son Cyrano de Bergerac.

   

Sérénité is a spacious detached house which was once a distillery. It can accommodate up to eight. It is situated within one and a half hectares of peaceful gardens and woodland. The property is near the tranquil village of Carsac de Gurcon and is surrounded by vineyards, open fields and woodland.
   
The house is fully centrally heated and is built on two levels. The ground floor has an en-suite double room and a games room with a pool/snooker table. The ground level can be reached either by the internal staircase from the first floor or independently from the garden. There is satellite TV, video and a hi-fi.
   

The first floor comprises a fully fitted kitchen, dining room, and a large lounge with open fireplace, a double bedroom with en-suite facilities, two twin bedrooms, a family bathroom and two separate w.c.'s.

   

The property is surrounded by private and secure gardens and woodland. There is a small pond near the far boundary of the property which is regularly visited by a host of wildlife. The whole ambience is one of peace and tranquillity.
   
The heated, 10 x 5 metre pool, complete with Roman steps for easy access, is surrounded by a large patio complete with garden furniture. A second patio area, accessible from the lounge, is the perfect place for BBQ's, relaxation or sampling the local wine. There is ample parking space at the rear of the property and garage space for two cars.
 

Sérénité is ideal for up to two families and will comfortably sleep eight people. Bed linen and towels are included within the rental fee.

There is an automatic watering system installed but the owners will discreetly go about the business of keeping everything perfect and maintaining the pool. Bicycles provided free of charge.
