BRITS TAKE RISKS IN BANDIT COUNTRY

Recent reports of an English family being robbed while sleeping in their car has prompted a warning to drivers not to 'push their luck' driving through France.

The family had stopped at 1:30 in morning just one and half hours form their destination when they were attacked. Commented Maurice Carroll of wine and travel website, winedrive.com: "No one with any thought for their own safety would stop in the middle of the night so close to their destination, particularly with young children on board.

"Far too many Brits push their luck by treating the drive through France as a race against time, driving as far as possible without stopping."

He added that a family of four can stay the night in a French hotel for the equivalent cost of a single B&B in UK.

"If you have been driving the length of France all day in high temperatures, the probability of being robbed is minute compared to your chances of having an accident and spending your holiday is hospital - or worse," he said.
