Alsace Wines Reveal Excellence...

The wines from Alsace are looking good with the 2005 vintage revealing its excellence - a fine, fruity and well balanced wine - according to one WineDrive vineyard.

Their comments come with some authority - the vineyard has existed for more than 400 years and has been handed down through 14 generations. It is considered one of the most important in the Alsace region.

Their 2002 continues to evolve, develop and sell well, especially the Gewürztraminer Grand Cru Frankstein which has developed wonderful rose aromas. The 2003 is keeping well and, says the vineyard, is also developing 'with a certain anticipation', while the 2004 carries a more classic finesse.

As we move towards the end of July, Alsace is now in its fifth week of high temperatures with near-drought conditions, with the ground being very dry.
